Setup / Machine Operator 2nd Shift
Brookdale Plastics is seeking to hire a 2nd shift Setup/Machine Operator. Our Setup/Machine Operator position has the responsibility to set up molds and tools and set thermoforming machines to appropriate temperatures and speeds so they will run smoothly. In addition to performing set up procedures, this job also performs the functions of Machine Operator which involves running the thermoforming machines and performing secondary operations that result in making quality parts for customers using plastic materials. This position serves as the back-up Lead and back-up Shift Supervisor in the event that both are absent from work.
Education:
· High School or equivalent.
· Thermoforming training (e.g., through technical school) a plus.
Experience:
· Previous plastics thermoforming experience is required.
· Previous experience in reading blueprints and calipers a plus.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge of electrical and “plumbing” processes involved in thermoforming machines.
· Knowledge of and skill using tools necessary for secondary operations.
· Basic math skills in order to perform box counts, material usage, index lengths, etc.
· Ability to use computer to log into/out of jobs.
· Ability to read and correctly follow job instructions.
· Highly dependable – regularly at work on time and willing to work overtime as needed.
· Excellent interpersonal skills – must be able to work positively with a variety of types of personalities.
· Good communication skills with team members such as person picking parts, person boxing parts etc. in order to efficiently handle any problems.
· Must demonstrate a commitment to producing high-quality products.
· Willing to learn and work on a variety of machines.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Strong ability to problem-solve and trouble shoot jobs and machines.
