Manufacturing Engineer / QMS

This position, under limited supervision with only a general outline of objectives, performs various manufacturing engineering assignments; plans and develops work program and project cost estimates for approval by supervisor and secures prior approval for subsequent changes or variances from approved plans. This position also works on projects involving new equipment and technology, location of equipment, determination of work flow, analysis of production and processing steps, cost reduction, and coordinates lean manufacturing efforts and continuous improvement initiatives, etc. This position also participates in and conducts meetings or conferences on planning, scheduling, progress, obstacles, and directs conversion to and implementation of projects. As the acting Quality System Manager (QMS), this position also leads all departments in maintenance and compliance of Brookdale’s ISO system including coordination of internal and external audits and documentation of processes and procedures.
 
Requirements:
Education:
·         4 year degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred
 
Experience:
·         1-2 years engineering experience preferred.
·         Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software: SolidWorks and/or Pro E.
 
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
·         Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
·         Excellent interpersonal skills – must be able to build and sustain strong working relationships with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the company.
·         Excellent prioritization skills – must be able to successfully handle multiple priorities.
·         Excellent planning/organization/project management skills.
·         Excellent math and statistical analysis skills.
·         Clear understanding of statistical process control and acceptance sampling.
·         Excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
·         Must be a strategic thinker – to develop successful strategies to achieve competitive advantage for the business.
·         Demonstrate PC proficiency.
·         Ability to train, teach, and motivate.
·         Ability to balance fiscal responsibility with cultural expectations.
